Rudder. Suitable for 65 Class and similar small boats.

The plastic moulded version is supplied with no stock. The stock can be supplied for the user to bond in place. The surface finish is a little irregular but can be improved by abrading with 400 grade wet and dry abrasive paper and spraying with primer. The rudder is deliberately made oversize allowing it to be trimmed down to the required size.

The carbon/epoxy version is 170 mm deep x 50 mm wide at the upper section. It has a t/c ratio of 6%. It has the stock bonded in place and requires no significant finishing to section.

In both cases the stock diameter is 2.5 mm.

The carbon/epoxy version is made with a section specially designed for the low Reynold's Numbers typical for 65 Class and FOOTY class boats. The surface of the rudder may have fine air bubbles and other minor faults created during the manufacturing process. We try to minimise these but it is impossible to avoid them completely. Rudders that are un-acceptable in our opinion are offered on our GOODBUYS list. The bubbles can be filled flush with polyester of epoxy filler, abraded, lightly sprayed with primer and re-abraded with 1200 grade wet and dry abrasive paper.
