Headsail boom end fitting - for 5 mm boom. Combines many functions.

This item combines several essential features into one unit, simplifying the completion of a rig while reducing cost and complexity at the same time.

The aft end of the fitting takes a 5 mm Ø boom tube. The hole in the centre allows the addition of a ball raced headsail boom swivel. The hole at the fore end takes the rod of a headsail boom counterbalance weight. A screw provides locking and adjustment for the counterweight position. The whole fitting provides the useful 'bend' in the boom without any complicated joining.

The fitting is sized correctly for full area rigs with normal headsail foot lengths and can be reduced in length for use with shorter headsail foot lengths.

The correct sized bearing for the headsail swivel is 4 mm OD x 1.5 mm ID. Flanged or in-flanged. Use a 1.0 or 0.9 mm Ø wire to form the hook.
