Fin alignment tool. Kit of parts requiring assembly and addition of two x 400-500 mm lengths of 11 mm Ø mast tube plus light line and addition of two miniature plumb bobs.


For fins with a chord length at mid depth of 50 to 100 mm or 140 to 220 mm when used with the extension. Designed to make checking the fore and aft alignment of a fin a simple matter

Short kit - provide your own 11 mm Ø mast tube (round or GROOVY)


Full kit - provided with two 600 mm lengths of suitable mast tube - does not include materials for plumb bobs


Extension - for fins with a mid chord width of 140 to 220 mm - as an add-on or with the kit

Details

If you have ever wondered why you have kept up with another boat on one tack, but it climbed away from you on the other, then you need to check the fore and aft alignment of your fin. Even professionally built boats can have minor mis-alignment that is well worth rectifying (assuming the fin is removable from the hull).

The short kit of parts requires assembly and:

  • two x 400-600 mm lengths of 11 mm Ø mast tube and
  • two miniature plumb bobs, 15 or 25 kgs Dyneema, bowsies and 1.5 mm Ø wire.

The full kit provides two 600 mm lengths of 11 mm Ø mast tube but not materials for the plumb bobs.
