Sheet lead - raised outlet
Details
Sheet lead - raised outlet, 10 mm offset above and below deck. Reverses the line.
Available with a partner piece that simplifies fitting the sheet lead to thin decks in difficult to get at places where using self tapping screws is not an option. The partner piece is intended to be pulled into place under the deck with a line and allowed to bond in place with silicone sealant. This positions lock nuts directly under the holes in the sheet lead and allows it to be secured in place on a bed of silicone sealant. Nuts and screws are supplied with the partner piece.
NB. Consider using Fairlead 052C instead of 060C, 060E or 060S. It is an efficient, economical and versatile alternative that is simple to install, will not corrode and is less costly.
This item is NOT designed, intended or suited for use on the main load bearing output line from a drum winch. It has much larger friction, by a factor of about 10, compared to a SAILSetc block, item 61-010. Because of this its use in this application degrades the power of your winch output by about 33%. When the sheet load is at a maximum its use is likely to cause stall, prevent speedy sheeting in and endanger the winch motor.
Alternative well designed systems are described on the download below.
