Boom clamp
Details
Boom clamp - various sizes. Adjustable band for booms - use for attachment of forestay swivel and other rigging. Designed to minimise snagging points by correctly recessing the screw head and nut into the profile. Can be used in place of boom band ref. 106-xxx and boom band ref. 104-xxx
Choose size to suit boom or mast spar. Currently available to suit 10 and 11 mm Ø booms.
Additional waisted screws, in packs of 5, can be found at the product page for socket head M2.5 screws, ref. SH-M2.5.
When used as an adjustable headsail boom swivel attachment
Choose the option to have the waisted screw (with the thread removed in the central part). This will avoid wear on the line that passes over the screw when the fitting is used as the swivel attachment.
The Ø of the waisted part of the screw is between 1.9 and 2.1 mm.
Alternatively, the thread of the screw should be protected with a short length of shrink fit tube, ref. SFIT-35, or the line should be protected with a length of PTFE tube or silicone tubing. Alternatively use a fine file to remove the thread in that region of the screw and smooth the remaining surface with fine wet and dry abrasive paper.
When used as an adjustable sheet attachment/fairlead
Choose the option to have the fairlead part supplied. This part slips into the clamp before the clamp is placed on the boom. The hole is large enough for the 87Z sheet hook to pass through.
108-100, 108-110. Adjustable boom band. Adjustable boom clamp. 108-WS, reference for the waisted screw alone.
