A short length of 058-004 or 058-006 added to a clip hook means you can leave the hook un-clipped and it will remain safe on the line.

Use a longer piece of 058-004 or 058-006 to slide over the clip hook to protect it from becoming accidentally snagged on rigging.

Used with a length of line the clip hook makes a simple safety device to avoid losing a wind indicator .
