Choose from sizes to fit 8, 10, 11, 12 or 14 mm OD alloy or carbon tube.

Suitable for use with any of the larger counterbalance weights, 15-35 grams, ref. 102.

Purchase Allen key, ref. AK-M2, for use with the 8 and 10 mm Ø, AK-M2.5 for 11 mm Ø, AK-M3-G for 12 mm Ø, AK-M3-S for 14 mm Ø.

Adding to boom

Lock in place on the boom using epoxy resin or cyanoacrylate glue. If the fitting is a tight fit there are a couple of things you can do to ease it onto the boom. Add a small radius/chamfer on the end of the tube and warm the tube and/or the fitting by immersing in hot water for a short while. If you want to avoid the possibility of the fitting slipping on the boom please use the technique described for product ref. 48-SET.

The way this fitting fits over the end of the boom avoids stressing the boom tube and causing the spar to crack along its length, along the grain of the drawn tube in fact. The design spares stressing the tube, protects the cut end from corrosion and splitting and permits the forestay attachment, ref 104 or 106, to be placed exactly where required once the rig has been added to the boat and adjusted to fit perfectly.
