Fittings set for a shroudless rig for the FOOTY class:
General features:
- Concentric axis fixed angle boom gooseneck for use with ball races (not included) on a 4 mm Ø mast
- Mast head fitting for 1.4 mm Ø wire backstay crane with ball races (not included) on a 4 mm Ø mast
- 1.4 mm Ø wire for backstay crane
- Two boom ends for 3 mm Ø yards
- Two boom ends for 2 mm Ø (and 2 for 3 mm) headsail boom
- One headstay attachment
- Five boom bands for 3 mm Ø booms
- Five boom bands for 2 mm Ø headsail boom.
No spars, ball races, or other parts are included in the Fittings Set.
The concentric axis gooseneck is designed to work with two 7 mm OD x 4 mm ID ball races. The mast head fitting is designed to work with two 4 mm OD x 1.5 mm ID ball races and a 1.4 mm Ø wire backstay crane. No bearings are provided as part of the basic Fittings Set but are provided if the Bearings Pack is chosen.
Bowsies, 15 kg breaking strain Dyneema, grommets and wire are provided in the Rigging Pack if chosen.
The spars required to complete a rig from these parts are:
- 4 mm Ø carbon tube for the mast
- 3 mm Ø carbon rod or tube for the main boom (and headsail boom)
- 2 mm Ø carbon rod for the headsail boom
