Head fitting - 12 mm Ø. For 12 mm Ø carbon round tube mast section. Suitable for use with M, 10R, 6M and similar size boats.

Use backstay cranes ref. 22-090. Use 1.8 mm Ø wire for the mainsail head swivel ref. W180.

It is essential to wrap the upper 30 mm of the mast tube with Mylar tape, carbon tow and epoxy resin, Dyneema line soaked in cyanoacrylate glue, or even heavy shrink fit tube to give it the hoop strength required to resist the backstay crane loads. Where an upper limit mark is required to meet the class rules the part can be coated with silver or gold metallic ink from a marker pen.
