ROMANZA - hull
Details
ROMANZA - hull only. Design statistics 11.5 kg, 0.7 m2 sail area - VPP. Winner of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 national championships.
A good quality mould from a master made accurately by Malcolm Button now exists and we are able to supply super strong and light hull mouldings made in pre-preg carbon. Transom, centre deck and foredeck areas are all included in the primary hull moulding. Between those regions is a wide deck edge flange. There are recesses for access to the rc installation and for the combined pot and recess plate (see item 054). There is a shallow recess that allows accurate placement of the upper end of the mast trunking and recesses for the 31S rigging screw attachment plates.
There are openings in the bow transom and the aft 50 mm of the transom where the vacuum bag exits the mould. These have to be closed as part of the finishing work. Weight of moulding after closing the bow and stern openings is around 770 grams.
Other SAILSetc products that will be required to assemble the hull to the highest standard:
- Fin (370-6M) and hull/fin/ballast attachment system
- Combined plate/recess and pot for receiver and batteries - 054-PLRP
- Rudder blade moulding - 365-BLADE
- Ballast casting - 200-6M-9kg
- Fittings pack - including bumper material
A construction plan and lines plan will be provided with the hull moulding.

Work is progressing (September 2025) on a printable version of ROMANZA. Depending on available human resources and demand a set of printed parts, or the files for these, or possibly both, are intended to be available hopefully in early 2026.
