Tang

Tang. Stainless steel, as provided with many SAILSetc gooseneck/kicking strap units. A hole is provided for the tack/Cunningham line.

The tang fits into the forward end of a SAILSetc spar using ref. 103-SE to provide the housing.

It can also be used to attach any round tube boom, metal or carbon, using a No 4 self tapping screw through the square hole in the tang. The forward end of the boom should be filled with thickened epoxy resin for reinforcement.
