Details

Eyebolt - 8 mm x M3.5. 2.5 mm diameter hole. Nickel plated brass eyebolt. Used to form an attachment point or fairlead on a deck.

Note that the design varies from the previously available item 35-006. If you prefer the original design of eyebolt head then please order the 25 mm length eyebolt and reduce the length as appropriate, item 35-025.

The edges of the hole in this product are well radiused so that lines will not be abraded when they pass through the hole. Nevertheless this eyebolt is not designed to have sheet lines passing through it except through small changes of direction. Large changes of direction will cause the friction load to be excessive and the line may become abraded. For large angle changes the sheet lines should run through fittings designed specifically for that purpose e.g. blocks (61-013, 61-010, 61-008, 62-010) and fairleads (52-ST, 52C, 52-006, 52-003, 53). Beware of lookalike alternative eyebolts from other sources that have sharp internal edges.

Eyebolt is one English language term for this part. Other words include: eye bolt, deckeye, deck eye, pad eye, deck bush, eye strap, U bolt, U-bolt, fairlead, leader, piton de filiere, augboizen, oogbout, ojebolt, golfare, canamo de argolla, olhal de trapas, chaumard, lippe, verholkluse, verhaalkam, klyds, passacavo a bocca di rancio, galapago, guia, castanha.
