SAILSetc Mylar film is translucent. It is neither transparent nor opaque but transmits light. A definition of translucency and an illustration is given at the link below:

Joining this material - adding tabling

Use 6 mm wide double sided tape, ref TS-06, to make seams to join the panels of small sails. Use 8 or 10 mm wide Mylar tape, ref TM-08 or TM-10, for the luff reinforcement of mainsails and headsails. And use 2 mm or 4 mm wide Mylar tape, ref TM-02 or TM-04, for leech tapes.

Adding battens

Cut battens from the SAILSetc thin batten material, ref BM-T. We can supply sets of tapered self adhesive battens suitable for 65 Class and RG65 class comprising 30 at 100 mm long and 20 at 75 mm long. Ref. BS-65.

Second quality material for practicing

Ends of rolls of this material that have cosmetic faults due to rolling onto card tubes are also available at reduced price. Typical length is 20 to 40 metres. Suitable for practicing or developing your sailmaking techniques, for testing changes to sail shaping, or for the real thing if you are not concerned about perfection.
