Boats

SWORD was designed in 2005 especially for the world championship held that year. The prototype and early production boats were made using hand laminated carbon but production since 2006 has used pre-preg carbon. SWORD has the fin box and mast tube incorporated into the primary hull moulding. This ensures consistency in geometry and saves weight. Indeed the high ballast ratio of this boat is one of the many reasons it has such sparkling performance across a wide range of conditions.

The boat has provided excellent results placing 1st and 2nd in the 2005 world championship. Since then the design has provided numerous wins in the AUS and GBR national championships.

The boats previously supplied by SAILSetc are available from BOATSetc located in Germany. The ;moulding quality is superb leaving the builder with only the task of adding the foils, structural component parts and fittings before going on to add rc and rigs.
