Details

Rigging screw - M3. Single end design, nickel plated brass, M3 thread, self locking design, 1.2 mm Ø stainless steel wire. The next size larger rigging screw is ref. 30-035. The next size smaller rigging screw is ref. 30-020.

The length of the rigging screw body is 25 mm. The 1.2 mm Ø wire extends about 70 mm below the body. The eyebolt part of the rigging screw is the SAILSetc eyebolt, ref 035-020, and has 20 mm of thread. There is no lock nut so the maximum safe adjustment length is about 15 mm.

A small single ended rigging screw ideal for shrouds and kicking straps on classes like 36/600, 36R, US 1M, IOM, M, 10R and so on.

Bend the wire to make a hook or permanent attachment to a deck eye. Attach the shroud to the eye in the eyebolt end.

This self locking rigging screw can be used in a non self locking mode by removing the O ring. Add a normal M3 nut or a Nyloc self locking nut as preferred to provide the lock nut function. Alternatively use a short length of silicone rubber tubing to mark the correct place (see sketch).

The version supplied with a Nyloc nut is intended to be used as follows:

  • Where locked at the desired position and to be un-locked when an adjustment is needed due to stretched rigging or a different rig tuning.
  • Where the lock nut is set to the desired position and the rigging screw body is tightened (by finger) to that position and to be removed (by finger) soon after.

The O rings are available as spares, ref. 82-003.
